Illegal To Be Human was almost Overbored's second album, but the then newly-activated Curse of the Commie Ninjas stepped in, and made it a bizarre circus that left everyone involved a little more cynical and bitter. The album was slated for release in the fall of 2002, but ended up never being finished at all.

What went right[]

Overbored were paid a huge compliment by then Frodis Caper and Beer Machine guitarist John Sullivan, who stated his desire to work with the young band after seeing that they were better than Purple Ketchup. Liam Peacock's mom's also lent the group a suite next to her office to record in after office hours. Also, the band did actually manage to play all the parts to all of their songs in a workable fashion, leading them to believe that it was only a matter of time before they had a shiny new product in their hands.

What went wrong[]

Everything else. First drummer Aiden Dunne broke his hand in a skateboarding accident. Since Liam was going on vacation to Europe in a little over a month, and John was going to be moving to Kitchener, Ontario, while Liam was gone, this left no time for recovery. First, local drummer Trevor Russell was offered spot duty on the album, but he had no time for it. So Aiden taped up his hand and attempted to play that way. It was sort of ok, in a "weak beats and the same lame fill over and over again" kind of way. Then things started malfunctioning. The first track recorded for the album was John cursing his computer's unwillingness to work the first fity times he tried to record something. Then drums started falling apart, amps stopped working, mic stands stopped standing up, several people lost the ability to play their instruments, and everyone in the band developed cabin fever and started hating each other. The resulting chaos was documented on a piece of cardboard titled God Is Against Us.

After this was all done, John went to Kitchener, spent an eternity waiting for his computer to be shipped to him. When it finally arrived, the bloody thing caught on fire. John sent Liam the tracks to see if he could mix them, but the software on Liam's computer could only open one track: John swearing at his computer.
